A Russian anti-war activist has been apprehended upon arrival in Armenias capital Yerevan, he informed independent Russian human rights guard dog OVD-Info.

Nikita Kamensky had come to Zvartnots International Airport on a flight from Istanbul early Tuesday, OVD-Info reported, when he was apprehended for an unidentified factor.

The detention might be connected to Armenias responsibilities under its extradition treaty with Russia, where Kamensky has actually been listed in the wanted individuals database considering that December 2022.

Kamensky, 31, had been briefly detained in Moscow in July for painting anti-war graffiti near a city station in the north of the capital.

Police officers raided his house several days later, and he was subsequently charged with criminal vandalism.

Last week, prominent opposition political leader Batyr Boromangnayev from the Russian republic of Kalmykia was apprehended at Mongolias Chinggis Khaan International Airport upon showing up there from Kazakhstan.

Boromangnayev, who was planning to seek asylum in Mongolia, stated local authorities threatened to deport him back to Russia.

Boromangnayev, who has dealt with numerous administrative cases in Russia connected to his political positions, stays in detention at the airport, according to details released by Kavkaz.Realii, an affiliate of the U.S.
