NEW DELHI: Over 25 stocks including Abbott India, Apollo Tyres, Britannia Industries, Chambal Fertilizers Chemicals and Escorts hit fresh 52-week highs on NSE during Friday's trade. Stocks such as Future Lifestyle Fashions, Firstsource Solutions, HIL, IPCA Laboratories, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Nestle India, Orient Press, Pidilite Industries, Ramco Cements, Shakti Pumps (India) and Tech Mahindra also figured among the stocks that hit fresh 52-week highs during Friday's trade. Equity benchmarks were in the positive terrain tracking global cues.

Investor sentiment got a boost after industrial production grew faster than 7 per cent for the fourth month running in February while consumer inflation moderated to a five-month low in March, providing a double boost for the economy.

IIP growth was 7.4 per cent in January while consumer inflation stood at 4.44 per cent in February.

The NSE Nifty index was trading 45 points up at 10,504, while the BSE Sensex was up 165 points at 34,266 around 10:40 am (IST). Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty50 pack, 39 were trading in the green, while 11 were in the red. Adani Ports SEZ, Indiabulls Housing Finance, Hindalco Industries, Bharti Infratel and Dr Reddy's Labs were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack. However, HCL Tech, BPCL, Hindustan Unilever, Bajaj Finserv and Larsen Toubro were among the top losers in the Nifty index.
