NEW DELHI: Most of the shares of the capital goods sector were trading higher in the afternoon trading session.Shares of HEG (up 3.60 per cent), AIA Engineering (up 2.60 per cent), Graphite India (up 2.48 per cent) and VGuard Industries (up 2.21 per cent) were the top performers in the index.
Bharat Heavy Electricals (down 1.33 per cent), Bharat Electronics (down 1.18 per cent), Kalpataru Power Transmissions (down 0.86 per cent) and Siemens (down 0.68 per cent) too were trading with gains.
However, the SP BSE Capital Goods index was trading 0.13 per cent down at 18,530.77 around 02:36 pm on Thursday.Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 44.35 points at 10,774.20 while the BSE Sensex was up 146.3 points at 35,796.24.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 23 were trading in the green, while 27 were in the red.Shares of Reliance Communications, JP Associates, PC Jeweller, YES Bank, Tata Power, PNB, Bank of India, CG Power and Industries, Suzlon Energy, BPCL, Jet Airways, Reliance Power, Infibeam Avenues, Spicejet, NCC, ONGC, BHEL, PFC, Vedanta and Adani Power were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
