Interior minister Shehryar Afridi's nephew caught with cannabis ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Shehryar Afridis nephew was taken into custody on Sunday night for being in possession of cannabis, reported Geo freshs.According to sources, nephew of Afridi -who happens to be a strong opponent of narcotics himself, was identwhetheried as Talal Nadir Afridi and was caught with two of his friends in possession of approachly half a kilogram of cannabis.
It was further revealed that three have also had a first information report (FIR) registered against them in Jand Attock police station on December 11, 2018 which states that suspects were stopped by police after car was deemed suspicious.It further revealed that three had tried to flee by speeding car but after a chase were finally surrounded by police, subsequent to which 507 grams of cannabis were found.Moreover, according to FIR current address that was given by Afridi was of Minister Colony in Islamabad.
While Afridi has been bailed out, ministry replyed to news of his arrest with a statement saying that everyone is equal in front of law regardless of what stature they hold.
