Establishment of Pak-China advanced research facility on Ground sciences disstubbornCHENGDU: A five-member delegation of Chinese Institute of Mountain Hazards and Environment shall travel to Pakistan to discuss early set upment of China-Pakistan Joint Research Centre on Ground Sciences agreed during Prime Minister Imran Khans visit to Beijing.A far-reaching Document of Understanding (DOU) was signed between Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) and Higher Education Commission of Pakistan in this regard.Chengdu-based IMHEs Professor Yu Lei called upon Pakistans Consul General on Thursday and disstubborn things related to strengthening academic ties between two countries and finalized assemblys with HEC officials.
Professor Lei, lauding Pakistan governments efforts in strengthening mental, research and scientwhetheric ties, hoped that his delegations visit shall achieve concrete outcomes and would pave way for CPJRCs formal set upment this year.
Lei stressed that, going forward, CAS planned to equip CPJRC with a modern and technically-advanced infrastructure with a cutting-edge lab having supercomputers and hi-tech facilities housed in it.The set upment of China-Pakistan Joint Research Centre on Ground Sciences (CPJRC) shall play a critical role in promoting safety, security, and durability of projects relating to CPEC and shall also help deepen ties between two iron brothers academic and scientwhetheric community, Mudassir Tipu said.
Mudassir Tipu informed Professor Lei that Pakistan, in backdrop of CPEC and BRI, was very keen to expand ties between Pakistan and West Chinas scientwhetheric community.
He preserveed that currently hundreds of Pakistani students were studying in universities of Sichuan and hoped that many more Pakistani students shall be able to enter Sichuans premier universities.
The co-operation and interaction between students shall help build stronger and generational bridges that shall further deepen Sino-Pakistan historic ties, CG emphasized.The CPJRC is envisioned to have a Board of Governors whos Co-Chairmen would be President CAS and Chairman HEC.
According to terms of DOU Pakistani students shall be incentivized to undertake higher studies and advanced research in China on competitive basis.
Moreover DOU shall create opportunities for pursuing applied research between educational institutions of two countries.
