Fed govt urges Sindh govt to launch low-cost housing schemeKarachi: The federal government has offered provincial government of Sindh to constitute a special task force on housing to construct low cost houses for poor people of province in which former would extend maximum support to latter.This was message of federal government Chairman Prime Ministers Task Force on Housing, Mr Zaigham Rizvi gave to Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah here at CM Home.
The assembly was attended by local government minister Saeed Ghani, Leader of Opposition in Sindh Assembly Firdous Shamim Naqvi and Advisor to Chief Minister Murtaza Wahab.
Mr Zaigham told chief minister that prime minister wanted Sindh government to constitute a special task force on housing and construct as much low cost houses as it can from its own resources and hand over same to poor people of province on easy installments.
He also told chief minister that federal government would also extend maximum support to provincial government in construction of houses.
We [fed govt] are much concerned with what name provincial government launches low-cost housing scheme, Mr Zaigham said but their interest was launching of scheme by Sindh government from its own resources.
Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah said that he would place matter of low-housing scheme on agenda of next cabinet assembly.Let cabinet discuss it at threadbare and decide then federal government would be informed accordingly, he said.
