NEW DELHI: IT shares were trading in the green in Friday's morning session.Shares of HCL Technologies (up 2.32 per cent), NIIT Technologies (up 1.33 per cent), Infibeam Avenues (up 1.17 per cent) and Tata Elxsi (up 1.16 per cent) were the top performers in the index.
Tech Mahindra (up 0.95 per cent), MindTree (up 0.67 per cent) and Infosys (up 0.64 per cent) too were trading higher.
The Nifty IT index was trading 0.62 per cent up at 15,595.80 around 10:48 am.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 40.80 points at 10,871.75 while the BSE Sensex was up 146.42 points at 36,403.11.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 28 were trading in the green, while 21 were in the red.
Shares of Vedanta, YES Bank, SBI, Axis Bank, Ashok Leyland, Zee Entertainment, Bharti Airtel, ICICI Bank, ITC and Tata Motors were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
