Eight of a family burnt alive at home in KarachiKARACHI: Eight members of a family burnt alive when a fire broke out in their house at Baldia Town area of Karachi early on Monday.According to rescue sources, residents of Malang Goth, locality of Baldia Town Karachi, were asleep when a fire broke out in their house, killing eight persons and injuring two others.The dead included Gulzara Bibi, her three daughters and three sons.
Four of the deceased died on the spot while four others succumbed to their injuries later.It is learnt that Gulzara Bibi, mother of children, was mentally unfit and had been receiving medical treatment for the past two years.
She reportedly might have set her house on blaze.The fire tenders were immediately dispatched to extinguish the fire.
However, the firefighters controlled the fire with the hectic efforts.
While the cause of the fire has yet to be ascertained.
