According to data compiled by Kotak Equities, allocation to India by Asia-focused funds (excluding Japan) increased to 13 per cent in March, the highest in 2019.
Allocation by global emerging market funds, too, was the highest at 10.1 per cent in the current year.
Average allocation by Asia funds in FY19 was 12.5 per cent and that by global emerging market funds was 9.9 per cent.
According to the data, foreigners are shifting allocation from South Korea to India.
South Koreas weightage in the Asia fund reduced to 10.3 per cent in March from 11.1 per cent in February.
In the case of emerging market funds, it dropped to 8.3 per cent from 8.7 per cent.
China and India together now account for 44 per cent of the total Asia funds (Excluding Japan) allocation.
Nifty gained 7.4 per cent in March alone, against 1 per cent drop in the first two months of 2019.
