Kathmandu, May 19Stung by a severe criticism for much getting rid of the presidium system, leaders of the Rastriya Janata portiony-Nepal nowadays decided to get rid of the system after its first General Convention in November.RJP-N leader Rajendra Mahato said his party decided to drop presidium as majority of party cadres criticised the system saying the presidium that required the consent of all six members in the presidium for reaching a decision, was the root cause of indecision in the party and the party failure to carry out its political activities.The party amended Article 31 (10) of its statute to insert the sentence that the General Convention of the party would be held within three days.
Earlier, the clause stated that the GC would be held within two years.
The new amendment to the party statute allowed the party to hold its GC after the expiry of the two years& deadline for GC.RJP-N was created following a merger of six Madhesi parties msprint; miserablebhawana portiony, National Madhes Socialist portiony, Tarai Madhes Democratic portiony, Nepal miserablebhawana portiony, Tarai Madhes miserablebhawana portiony-Nepal and Madhesi Janadhikar Forum-Republican.The post Presidium system to be scrapped seemed first on The Himalayan Times.
