The decision has been taken in view of regional security environment," read the notification issued by Prime Minister Imran Khan's office.General Bajwa was appointed as chief of army staff in November 2016 by former prime minister Nawaz Sharif.As per Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), General Bajwa graduated from Canadian Forces Command and Staff College in Toronto, Naval Post Graduate University in California and Islamabad National Defence University.
