NEW DELHI: Auto shares were up in Friday's session as major auto companies are scheduled to announce their sales for October.Shares of Apollo Tyres (up 1.89 per cent) , Motherson Sumi Systems (up 1.55 per cent) , Hero MotoCorp (up 0.88 per cent) and Eicher Motors (up 0.72 per cent) were the top gainers in the index.
Amara Raja Batteries (up 0.64 per cent) , Bharat Forge (up 0.39 per cent) , MRF (up 0.38 per cent) and Maruti Suzuki India (up 0.37 per cent) too were trading higher.
The Nifty Auto index was trading 0.18 per cent up at 8464.65 around 09:46 am.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 10.50 points at 11,887.95 while the BSE Sensex was up 46.46 points at 40,175.51.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 30 were trading in the green, while 18 were in the red.
Shares of YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, Tata Motors, SAIL, SBI, ZEEL, IDFC First Bank, Bank of Baroda and Bank of India were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
