German Chancellor Angela Merkel discussed efforts to reach a diplomatic solution for the Libyan conflict in separate phone calls with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, whose government intends to send troops to Libya, a government spokesman said yesterday.
