NEW DELHI: Vodafone Idea with over 2.51 crore shares changing hands was leading among the most traded stocks on NSE on Tuesday.Shares of YES Bank (number of shares traded: 1.52 crore) , Reliance Power (number of shares traded: 1.48 crore) , Unitech (number of shares traded: 1.37 crore) , Dish TV India (number of shares traded: 1.23 crore) , SAIL (number of shares traded: 0.52 crore) , Tata Motors (number of shares traded: 0.38 crore) , Indiabulls Housing Finance (number of shares traded: 0.29 crore) , SBI (number of shares traded: 0.27 crore) and ICICI Bank (number of shares traded: 0.27 crore) also featured among the most traded stocks on the NSE.
HDFC (Rs 331.18 crore) was leading the pack of most active stocks in value terms.It was followed by InterGlobe Aviation (Rs 242.81 crore) , United Spirits (Rs 162.42 crore) , ICICI Bank (Rs 145.51 crore) , HDFC Bank (Rs 144.01 crore) , RIL (Rs 127.59 crore) , IndusInd Bank (Rs 101.23 crore) , Wockhardt (Rs 98.67 crore) , Indiabulls Housing Finance (Rs 93.04 crore) and SBI (Rs 87.31 crore).
The NSE Nifty index was trading 33.30 points up at 12,152.30, while the BSE Sensex was up 137.33 points at 41,292.45 around 09:32 am.
In the Nifty index, Housing Development Finance Corporation (up 2.08 per cent) , YES Bank (up 1.65 per cent) , UPL (up 1.63 per cent) , Bharat Petroleum Corporation (up 1.53 per cent) and Mahindra - Mahindra (up 1.31 per cent) were among the top gainers.
While Bharti Airtel (down 1.17 per cent) , Vedanta (down 1.07 per cent) , JSW Steel (down 0.97 per cent) , Nestle India (down 0.97 per cent) and Coal India (down 0.91 per cent) were among the top losers.
