Shares of Bharti Airtel were last trading 0.72 per cent lower at Rs 541.15 on the BSE.Share price of Bharti Airtel edged lower on Friday, June 11, a day after the multinational telecommunications company upgraded its mobile network in Himachal Pradesh by deploying an additional 17.4 MHz spectrum to boost the network.
On Friday, Bharti Airtel opened on the BSE at Rs 549, swinging to an intra day high of Rs 549.85, and an intra day low of Rs 540.05, in the trading session so far.In a statement, BhartiAirtelHub CEO (Upper North) Manu Soodsaid that Airteldeployed an additional 17.4 MHz spectrum across 900, 1800 and 2300 MHz bands along with advanced network software tools to bolster high-speed data capacity in its network.Out ofthis, 2.6 MHz has been added in the 900 MHz band, 4.8 MHz in the 1800 MHz band, and 10 MHz in the 2300 MHz band.
The deployment of an additional spectrum will allow improved network and better coverage, data speedinside homes and buildings in the urban and rural areas.With the addition of this spectrum, which was acquired during the latest round of spectrum auctions,Airtel now has the largest spectrum bank of 70 MHz in Himachal Pradesh.Airtelhas more than2.98 million customers in the stateand its network covers a population of95.02 per cent of Himachal Pradesh.On the NSE, Bharti Airtel opened at Rs 545.90, inching to an intra day high of Rs 549.75, and an intra day low of Rs 540.05, in the session so far.
It was last trading 0.91 per cent lower at Rs 540.20 on the NSE.Shares of Bharti Airtel were last trading 0.72 per cent lower at Rs 541.15 on the BSE.
