KATHMANDU, JANUARY 4CPN (Unified Socialist) Chairman Madhav Kumar Nepal has given positive statement about giving its vote of confidence to the government led by Pushpa Kamal Dahal.

Reportedly, there was a conversation between them about the current political events. In the previous meeting, PM Dahal had asked Nepal to support the government.Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane informed mediapersons that PM Dahal had sought Nepal's help to resolve contemporary issues and support him in the vote of confidence."He also said Chairman Nepal was positive about the vote of confidence to the prime minister.Chairman Nepal said there was no discussion about joining the government during the meeting."There was no discussion on this matter.

Only the vote of confidence was discussed," he said.Earlier, Nepal clarified that his party would not rush to take a decision about its participation in the government, which is expected to take the vote of confidence on January 10.Speaking at a programme organised by the party's sister organisation, Youth Association Nepal, Kathmandu District Committee in Kathmandu today, Nepal clarified that the political picture was still not clear in the country and that the politburo meeting of his party also did not take any decision regarding the matter.Nepal said rather than looking at Dahal's face, they were ready to take decision on January 10 after looking at the policies and programmes of the government and the activities of the political parties that were part of it.A meeting of the ruling parties was held in Baluwatar today.

The ruling coalition has initially reviewed the work done by the government.Today afternoon, a meeting was held with the top leaders of the parties supporting Dahal along with Prime Minister Dahal, who is also the Chairman of CPN-Maoist Centre.CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli, Home Minister and Chairman of Rastriya Swatantra Party Rabi Lamichhane, Rastriya Prajatantra Party Chairman Rajendra Lingden, Janata Samajwadi Party-Nepal Chairman Upendra Yadav were present at the meeting.DPM and Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane said that the meeting held at Baluwatar, the official residence of the prime minister, discussed facilitating the livelihood of people.

He said the discussion was focused on policy changes by making 'corruption control' the main topic.He mentioned that there was no discussion in the coalition meeting about splitting the ministry, saying there was no thought on it."The Cabinet will be completed only after PM Dahal takes the vote of confidence," he said.
