MUMBAI: In yet another setback to Uddhav Thackeray, member of the legislative council (MLC) Neelam Gorhe on Friday joined chief minister Eknath Shinde's camp.Gorhe, the deputy chairperson of the Maharashtra legislative council, joined Shinde Sena in the presence of chief minister Eknath Shinde and deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis. This is the second setback to Thackeray in a month.
Last month, MLC Manisha Kayande joined the Shinde camp and following reports of her shift, the Uddhav Thackeray-led party sacked her as party spokesperson for anti-party activities."I have decided to work with Eknath Shinde under the guidance of Devendra Fadnavis on the issues of women development, Maharashtra and the country," said Gorhe, adding, "Shiv Sena is on the right path under the leadership of Eknath Shinde.""I joined Shiv Sena in 1998.
I got to do good work there.
However, in current situation, the Supreme Court has said that Shiv Sena under the leadership of Eknath Shinde is official Sena," Gorhe added. When asked if women party leaders were unhappy over the entry of Sushma Andhare, Gorhe said that there was no such issue.Stating that it is a historic entry, Eknath Shinde said that even deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis and other party leaders are present here to welcome her into the party.Shinde also added that Gorhe's entry shows how strong the BJP and Shiv Sena alliance is."The decision we took was being discussed across the state, however, we don't pay attention to those who can't accept it and want to criticise," added Shinde.WatchMumbai: Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Neelam Gorhe joins Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena
