KATHMANDU, SEPTEMBER 28 The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has urged one and all not to attack and misbehave with doctors and not to vandalize the physical property of health institutions under any pretext. Government committed to bringing those responsible for grave human rights violations to justice: PM Dahal SC rules sexual intercourse with underage girl not rape if couple is married The NHRC also drew the attention of the government, health workers, and all stakeholders not to launch agitation by closing treatment services and to guarantee the citizen's rights to treatment.Incidents of attack and misbehaving with doctors working at different hospitals in Chitwan, Kaski, Makawanpur, and Lamjung as well as vandalism at different health institutions have been taking place in recent periods and patients have been facing problems in lack of treatment after doctors and health workers started the demonstration by closing all treatment services except emergency. A press release issued today by NHRC Spokesperson Dr.

Tikaram Pokharel mentioned that the NHRC has been continuously carrying out monitoring through different mediums regarding security arrangements to doctors, continuity of health services, and problems faced by patients.The NHRC carried out monitoring of incidents of manhandling upon doctors at Sancho Hospital, Hetauda, on September 10, assault on doctors at Lamjung Hospital on September 24, manhandling and misbehaving with doctors at Manipal Hospital in Pokhara on September 25.In the course of monitoring the latest incident at Manipal Hospital, it found that relatives of a patient at Manipal Hospital assaulted and misbehaved with doctors and vandalized physical infrastructures of the hospital after the patient died in the course of treatment in the hospital, shared the NHRC.Similarly, security personnel also misbehaved with doctors in the incident, reads the press statement.

The NHRC further said the patients have been deprived of getting treatment services after doctors launched agitation by closing all services except emergency on September 26 and 27, demanding peace and security as well as legal action against those involved in the incident. .
