Africa’s natural gas industry is set for significant growth in 2024, playing a key role in the continent’s energy transition.The African Energy Chamber’s 2024 Outlook Report confirms a global and African rise in natural gas production.Certainly, this surge aligns with energy transition strategies, positioning natural gas as a crucial transitional fuel.In addition, Kinetic Energy of Australia and South Africa’s Industrial Corporation (IDC) jointly undertake a significant LNG project in Mpumalanga province, South Africa.Capitalizing on a 3.1 billion cubic feet natural gas discovery in Amersfoort, Mpumalanga, this project aims to produce 50 MW, expanding to 500 MW.Touted as South Africa’s largest onshore LNG project, it marks a significant step towards diversifying the country’s energy sources away from coal and towards cleaner alternatives.Africa’s Natural Gas Sector: A Growing Force in 2024.
