It has already left at least 33,000 people dead in Gaza, according to the Gaza Health Ministry, which says the majority of the dead are women and children.
Israel continues to mourn not only for the 1,200 people estimated killed in Hamas's October 7 attack, but also for the 250-plus soldiers killed in Gaza since the war began.
