KATHMANDU, APRIL 19Neerja Birla, the wife of Aditya Birla Group's billionaire chairman Kumar Mangalam Birla, is all set to scale Lobuche peak in the Everest region this season. Armed with THT banner Kami Rita to scale Everest for a record 29th time Army plans to collect 10 tonnes trash from Everest region Neerja, founder and chairperson of Aditya Birla Education Trust, along with a small group of climbers today reached Namche Bazaar on the way to the 6,000-metre Lobuche peak, said expedition organisers.Legendary climber and Chairman at Seven Summit Treks Mingma Sherpa will lead the expedition while IFMGA guide Dawa Phinjo Lama Bhote and record-holding Indian climber Arjun Vajpai will accompany the Indian billionaire to the summit of Lobuche. Neerja and her friends landed at the Tribhuvan International Airport on a private jet on Thursday and immediately took a helicopter flight to Lukla."Today, the team is in Namche bazaar," Mingma Sherpa said, adding that he was excited to lead an expedition for the VVIP clients to Lobuche peak.Neerja's expedition to Lobuche also sends a positive message to the mountaineering world and it also helps promote Nepal's adventure tourism, according to Sherpa.Being the wife of the 7th richest person in India, Neerja, 52, has a passion for promoting children's education and working for causes related to mental health.

Being a philanthropist, mental health activist and educationist, she is also the recipient of Changemaker of the Year at the 2022 Woman Achievers Awards in India."Life is more of an experience than a problem to be solved.
