Rheinmetall, a prominent German defense manufacturer, recently unveiled the advanced Keiler NG armored vehicle.Engineers designed this advanced armored vehicle to overcome enemy barriers and address combat challenges observed in Ukraine.Importantly, it highlights the strategic need to navigate battlefield obstructions efficiently. At the Eurosatory defense exhibition near Paris, the Keiler NG was introduced.
It is designed for exceptional protection and maneuverability.Notably, it features a sophisticated arsenal: a mine plow, a rocket-assisted mine-clearing line charge, and a magnetic signature duplicator. These tools allow it to breach deep enemy defenses across various terrains. The vehicle comes with a Pearson plow, over four meters wide, adept at clearing mines on unstable terrain for up to 250 meters.Breaking Barriers: Rheinmetalls Keiler NG Sets New Standards in Armored Warfare.

These systems fire in overlapping bursts to effectively handle large minefields.Additionally, an integrated lane marking system makes paths cleared at night or under poor visibility conditions visible to subsequent forces.A quick-exchange system facilitates rapid transitions from mine-clearing to bulldozer blades, aiding in the removal of anti-tank obstacles and preparing defensive positions.Rheinmetalls Keiler NG Sets New Standards in Armored WarfareThe Keiler NG also includes an integrated crane for immediate reconfiguration and resupply efforts. For defense, it features the Rosy obscuring system and a remotely operated Natter 12.7 weapon station.A two-person crew operates the Keiler NG.
The design also supports remote control and integration into digitalized battlefield environments.Constructed on the Kodiak engineering vehicles chassis, part of the Leopard 2 tank family, the Keiler NG boasts remarkable agility. This 63-ton vehicle can reach speeds of up to 65 km/h, navigate 90-cm vertical barriers, ascend 60% gradients, and cross 2.50-meter wide ditches.Integration into the Leopard family enhances interoperability and streamlines logistics and training processes.Rheinmetall plans to upgrade existing Kodiak vehicles to the Keiler NG configuration, ensuring continuity and technological advancement in armored vehicle capabilities. This launch significantly advances military operations and enhances troop safety and operational effectiveness in complex combat scenarios.
