The opening event of the China tourism year in Kazakhstan was held on Monday at the National Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan, with around 300 visitors from both China and Kazakhstan going to the event.Sun Yeli, Chinese Minister of Culture and Tourism, and Yermek Marzhikpayev, Kazakh Minister of Tourism and Sports, participated in the opening event and provided speeches.As one of the key events of the China tourist year in Kazakhstan, an exhibit titled Silk and the Silk Road: From China to Kazakhstan also opened on the very same day at the National Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The exhibit includes 3 sections: Origin of Silk, Road of Silk and Use of Silk.
It aims to showcase the historical depth and development of Silk Road culture, and to highlight the friendly exchanges and cultural combination between China and countries along the Silk Road.
The exhibition will run until August 8.
The opening event likewise included cultural efficiencies, a Hanfu style show, and intangible cultural heritage experiences.
In addition, the China National Silk Museum and the National Museum of Kazakhstan signed a memorandum of cooperation.
