
The 2025 China-Central Asia people-to-people exchange event, co-hosted by China Media Group and the TV and Radio Complex of the President of Kazakhstan, was held at the Kazakhstan Presidential Center in Astana on Monday.More than 150 guests from various fields, including politics, economics, culture, media and education, in China and five Central Asian countries attended the event.At the event, the China-Central Asia Media Cooperation Initiative was released, calling for deeper collaboration among media organizations in areas such as joint reporting, content sharing, information dissemination, technological innovation and talent development. The initiative proposes the establishment of a China-Central Asia Media Cooperation Alliance to objectively and widely amplify the voices of China and Central Asian countries, deepen mutual understanding and friendship between peoples, and contribute to building a China-Central Asia community with a shared future.Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev sent a congratulatory message to the event, wishing it great success.In his message, Tokayev emphasized that Kazakhstan and China have consistently adhered to the principles of good neighborliness and mutual support and that the bilateral partnership has been elevated to a strategic level, achieving a significant leap forward.Tokayev highlighted that culture has always been a bridge connecting nations and civilizations, with people-to-people exchanges playing a pivotal role in deepening bilateral relations.
He underscored Kazakhstan's commitment to enhancing cooperation in this area and expressed confidence that the event would feature productive discussions on key issues, such as fundamental values, culture and information security, thereby contributing significantly to strengthening inter-state relations. Shen Haixiong, vice minister of the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and president of China Media Group (CMG), also attended the event.Noting that CMG is both a participant and storyteller of the Belt and Road Initiative, Shen said the media organization has always been committed to fostering friendly exchanges and people-to-people ties between China and Central Asia.
CMG has co-produced a range of high-quality programs that vividly portray the story of China-Central Asia cooperation and mutual benefit.He further said that CMG has tailored program screenings to meet the preferences of Central Asian audiences, showcasing the dynamic vitality of Chinese modernization and the unique charm of Chinese culture.Shen stated that CMG is ready to collaborate with media partners in Central Asia to deepen exchanges and cooperation across multiple sectors, continuing to serve as a messenger of friendship and contributing wisdom and strength to the development of the China-Central Asia media partnership and the building of a community with a shared future for mankind.
