Fan Dongsheng is a prominent neurologist in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) and among the prominent specialists specializing in neurodegenerative disease in China.
His dedication to ALS began throughout his masters research, where he initially experienced clients battling the condition.
Back then, ALS patients received little attention or social support, Fan recalled.
But after forming deep connections with them, I could not walk away –-- even though treatment results were typically poor.
When patients and families require help the most, I feel its my responsibility to stand with them.
