Authors: Super User Ex-brigadier rejects Imran Khans allegations LAHORE: Brigadier (retd) Muzaffar Ranjah has rejected Imran Khan's claim that he played any role to favour the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz in the general elections of 2013.Speaking to Geo News on Saturday, he called for formation of a judicial commission to probe the allegations levelled by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chairman.Ranjha said the commission should come up with a strict punishment after holding an inquiry .He said Khan and he would submit affidavits in the proposed commission before it reaches a decision.The ex army officer said the army was fighting a war against terrorism in 2013 and it had no role in the general electionHe said then army chief General Ashfaq Pervaiz Kayani had issued strict orders for army to stay away from meddling in politics.He said the allegations repeated by head of a political party after judicial commissions inquiry were baseless.Khan is an irresponsible person who is accuing army of influcing the election.
Army acts as an organization where a brigadier cant do anything, Geo News quted him as saying.He said after seeing his performance in an intelligence agency in Punjab, Shahbaz Sharif appointed him DG Anti-Corruption and tasked him with fixing the department.Muzaffar Ranjha said he he has made the Anti-Corruption Department the number one department.Lauding the Punjab Chief Minister, he said Shahbaz Sharif was a champion of national harmony and the day he has any doubt about his intention, he would quit his job.
In a TV interview, Imran Khan recently said Brigadier Ranjha ensured success of Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz in general election.
