Sri Lankas Minister of Public Security Tiran Alles has revealed that a special programme will operate, in conjunction with the ongoing anti-drug operation Yukthiya, to eliminate sexual harassment and violence against women.The Minister made these remarks while addressing officers of the Weyangoda Police Division on Sunday (28 Jan.).Raising concerns about the increased incidents of harassment and abuse faced women and children including in public transport and on the streets, the Minister urged for those subjected to such incidents to inform the police via the 109 hotline.We will resolve the matter within 48 hours, Alles assured.
