Two suspects linked to the shooting and killing of two young men in front of Devundara Sri Vishnu Devalaya in Devinuwara have been detained, Sri Lanka Police confirmed.The presumes, aged 26 and 35, were collared on Sunday (April 7) after surrendering to the Gandara Police through their legal representatives, the cops said.Police Media Spokesman, SSP Buddhika Manathunga said that a person of the 2 arrested suspects have actually been determined as the main shooter of the crime.The double murder happened on March 21, when two people taking a trip on a motorbike were gunned down by a group of unidentified assailants who showed up in a van.
The shooting took place on Sinhasana Road, directly in front of the historical Devundara Sri Vishnu Devalaya.In a different event, another suspect was arrested in connection with a current shooting in the Hikkaduwa Police Division.
The suspect, a 23-year-old citizen of Gonapeenuwala, was apprehended in the Ginimellagamaha area on Sunday (7 ).
According to authorities, he is believed to have assisted and abetted a shooting on the night of April 3, when 2 unidentified shooters on a motorcycle opened fire on a males and female standing near a ready-made garment store in Kumarakanda.The victims sustained critical injuries and were hurried to the Karapitiya Hospital.
The guy later on caught his injuries while receiving treatment.Further investigations into both occurrences are continuous.
