During a United Nations (UN) session, the Venezuelan government urged to repeal coercive measures, arguing that they contribute to increased poverty and inequality in the countries affected by such sanctions.Joaqun Perez also expressed concern over the growing implementation of these coercive actions, asserting that they undermine multilateralism.There has been a worrying surge in the application and broadening of unilateral coercive measures, which eventually pose a threat to multilateralism as a whole, he stated.The diplomat stated that since March 2015, Venezuela has been subject to 929 unilateral coercive measures by the United States.Venezuela appeals to UN over increase in poverty and inequality due to coercive measures.
