Suriname's Ministry of Defense has begun the environmentally friendly dismantling of several patrol vessels, procured from Spanish company Rodman in 2000 and abandoned since 2016.Moored along the Saramacca Canal and managed by Hi-Q Oil Suriname NV, these fiberglass vessels fell into a deplorable state over time and were identified as an obstruction and environmental hazard.The ministry did not specify the number of dismantled vessels, but at least three were presumed included.These patrol vessels were subject to an ongoing investigation into their alleged irregular sale at auction in 2016, and the fate of three additional vessels ..To read the full NEWS and much more, Subscribe to our Premium Membership Plan.
