This Saturday, the last lunar eclipse of 2023 will occur, with part of the moon entering Earths darker shadow, making it a partial eclipse.The rest stays in a lighter shadow called the penumbra.
In Brazil, most viewers will see only the penumbral phase.In this phase, the moon wont change color much.
However, some eastern parts of Brazil will see a more vivid show.Astronomer Josina Nascimento explains that certain states will see up to 6% of the moon covered.These states include Cear, Pernambuco, and others.
Overall, only 6% of the moon will enter the darker shadow, creating a bite-like effect.Time and Date states that many parts of the world can also see the event.

After that, the darker shadow phase ends.
