Carvalheira then extended their lead, punishing a midfield mistake by Santos.Santos tried to mount a comeback, with Otero scoring late in the game.
Despite their efforts to equalize in the closing minutes, Chapecoense held on for a crucial victory.This result highlights the competitive nature of Srie B.
Santos must now regroup and focus on maintaining their promotion push in the coming weeks, while Chapecoense will look to build on this important win to secure their position in the league.
