GAC Motors, one of Chinas leading automobile manufacturers, is making a significant move into the Brazilian market with an investment of R$ 5.8 billion (about US$ 1 billion).This initiative reflects the growing interest of Chinese automakers in Brazils automotive sector, which is experiencing rapid transformation.A key aspect of GACs strategy involves partnerships with three Brazilian universitiesFederal Universities of Santa Catarina, Santa Maria (RS), and Unicamp (SP).The company will invest R$ 120 million in these collaborations aimed at developing hybrid vehicles powered by ethanol, aligning with Brazils strong focus on renewable energy.As the fifth-largest car manufacturer in China, GAC produced over 2.53 million vehicles in 2023, surpassing Brazils total automotive output.
