The SP BSE Sensex rose as much as 76.83 points to hit 36,521.47 and slipped as much as 53.03 points to an intraday low of 36,391.61.
The Nifty50 barometer of National Stock Exchange moved in a range of 10,942.55 and 10,913.20, logging a swing of 29.35 points compared with its previous close of 10,922.75.
