JioPhone 2 will be available from August 15 at an introductory price of Rs 2,999.Reliance Industries (RIL), at its 41st annual general meeting (AGM) today, announced the launch of the latest version of JioPhone as well as a special Jio Monsoon Hungama offer.
As expected, Mukesh Ambani also launched the JioGigaFibre, a fixed line broadband service, which was being beta tested until recently.
From August 15, customers can start registering your interest for JioFibre from MyJio app and jio.com.
Customers can also exchange their old JioPhones with the new ones under the special Jio Monsoon Hungama offer.JioPhone 2 launchedMukesh Ambani also launched the latest version of Reliance Jio's cheap feature phone, JioPhone, called as JioPhone 2, which will be available at an introductory price of Rs 2,999 from August 15.Under the special JioPhone Monsoon Hungama offer, users will be able to exchange their existing JioPhone for an effective entry price of Rs 501 from July 21.Even as JioPhone is not a smartphone, users will now be able to access YouTube, Facebook, and WhatsApp on JioPhone.
These will be enabled in JioPhones from August 15.What is JioGigaFiberJioGigaFiber is the fixed line broadband services of Reliance Jio Infocomm, the telecom arm of Reliance Industries.
Fixed-line broadband offers hundreds of megabits, even gigabits per second of data speeds.Because of its excellent speed, JioGigaFiber will enable customers high-definition television, video conferencing, gaming, and digital shopping, among others."We will now extend this fiber connectivity to homes, merchants, small and medium enterprises and large enterprises simultaneously across 1,100 cities to offer the most advanced fiber-based broadband connectivity solutions," said Mukesh Ambani.What Mukesh Ambani said on Reliance Jio"Jio has enabled Reliance to strategically reinvent itself as a Technology Platform Company.

"Two hundred fifteen million customers within 22 months of start is a record that no technology company has been able to achieve anywhere in the world," Mukesh Ambani said.Mukesh Ambani's wife Nita Ambani, non-executive director of Reliance Industries, and children Akash and Isha Ambani were also present at the 41st AGM.
The soon-to-be daughter-in-law of the Ambani family, Shloka Mehta, engaged to be married to Akash, was also present.
