Petrol and Diesel Price: Fuel rates were hiked across metro cities todayPetrol, Diesel Price Today:Petrol and diesel prices touchedrecord highs on Saturday, October 23, as rates were hiked for the fourth consecutiveday.In the national capital, petrol prices were hiked by 35paise from Rs 108.64per litre to Rs 108.99per litre, while diesel rates were also hikedby 35 paise from Rs 97.37to Rs 97.72per litre, according to Indian Oil Corporation.Petrol now costs 35.3per cent more than the price at which aviation turbine fuel (ATF or jet fuel) is sold to airlines.
ATF in the national capital costs Rs 79,020.16 per kilo litre or roughly Rs 79 per litre.In Mumbai, the petrol prices werehiked by 34paise to Rs 114.81per litre, and diesel is now being sold at Rs 105.86per litre.
Among the four metro cities, fuel rates are the highest in Mumbai, according to the state-run oil refiner.
Therates vary across the states due to value-added tax.
