Share Market on Monday: Twenty-eight out of 50 Nifty stocks advanced in trade.
After hitting lifetime highs in early trade on Monday, the markets started swinging between gains and losses.
At about 10:30 am, the Sensex was at 37,328.42, down 8.43 points or 0.02 per cent while the Nifty was at 11,265.05, with a loss of 13.30 points or 0.12 per cent.
The SP BSE Sensex opened at 37,491.39 while the broader Nifty50 at 11,296.65.
Within the first few minutes of the trade, Nifty breached the 11,300 level for the first time ever.
The intraday high of the Sensex was registered at 37,496.80 while that of the Nifty at 11,309.35.
