Silver too followed suit and fell by Rs 600 to Rs 38,400 per kg.
The bullion market in the national capital was closed Thursday on account of 'Govardhan Pooja'.
In the international market, gold traded at USD 1,219.51 an ounce and silver at USD 14.40 an ounce in New York.
Bullion traders said the decline in prices was mainly due to muted domestic demand and weak global trend.Here are five things to know about gold, silver prices:1.
Globally, gold dipped on Friday, on track for its biggest weekly fall since August, as the dollar rose towards 16-month highs after US Federal Reserve stuck to its tight monetary stance and looked set to deliver another rate hike in December, reported Reuters.
Spot gold was 0.5 percent lower at $1,218.01 per ounce in intraday trade, having touched its lowest since November 1 at $1,217.20.Gold is down more than 1 percent for the week so far, which would be its biggest decline since the week of August 17.2.
In Delhi, gold of 99.9 per cent and 99.5 per cent purity priced at Rs 32,250 and Rs 32,100 per 10 grams, respectively.
Gold prices had dropped by Rs 210 to Rs 32,400 per 10 grams during special 'Diwali Muhurat' trading at the bullion market on Wednesday.
