Share market update: RCom, Bharti Infratel, Airtel boost BSE Telecom index

NEW DELHI: Gains in shares of OnMobile Global (up 6.85 per cent), MTNL (up 4.60 per cent), Reliance Communications (up 3.33 per cent) and
Bharti Infratel (up 3.03 per cent) boosted BSE Telecom index in Friday's session. Shares of RCom jumped after company initiated contempt
proceedings in apex court against Department of Telecommunications, alleging that it failed to issue a no-objection certificate regarding
up at 1,010 around 11:35 am, with shares of GTL Infrastructure (up 2.38 per cent), Bharti Airtel (up 1.55 per cent), Vindhya Telelinks (up
0.47 per cent) and Tejas Networks (up 0.32 per cent), too, gaining. Shares of Bharti Infratel and Airtel rose after company added more than
1 lakh new users in November after two months of decline, according to industry data. On flip side, shares of GTL (down 2.95 per cent),
Sterlite Technologies (down 1.41 per cent), Tata Communications (down 1.13 per cent), GTPL Hathway (down 0.65 per cent), Tata Teleservices
(Maharashtra) (down 0.25 per cent) and Himachal Futuristic Communications (down 0.24 per cent) were suffering losses
Vodafone Idea, however, traded flat at that time
