Shares of GTL Infrastructure (down 4.35 per cent) , Tejas
Networks (down 2.38 per cent) , GTL (down 2.22 per cent) and Himachal Futuristic Communications (down 2.03 per cent) were the worst
Tata Communications (down 1.93 per cent) , Sterlite Technologies (down 1.76 per cent) , Vodafone Idea (down 1.32 per cent) and OnMobile
Global (down 0.91 per cent) too were trading lower.
The SP BSE Telecom index was trading 0.34 per cent down at 998.45 around 12:40 pm
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 61.20 points at 10,882.40 while the BSE Sensex was 179.88 points at 36366.6 .
Among the 50 stocks in
the Nifty index, 14 were trading in the green, while 36 were in the red.
