Stock market update: Tata Motors, SBI, Infosys most active stocks in value terms

NEW DELHI: Tata Motors (Rs 1,343.24 crore) emerged as the most active stock in terms of value on NSE on Thursday. It was followed by State
Bank of India (Rs 923.03 crore), Infosys (Rs 592.82 crore) and ONGC (Rs 571.07 crore). Jet Airways (Rs 534.34 crore), PC Jeweller (Rs 533.09
crore), Tata Consultancy Services (Rs 530.21 crore), Avenue Supermarts (Rs 503.21 crore), Vedanta (Rs 501.80 crore) and Reliance Industries
(Rs 487.37 crore) also featured among the most active stocks in value terms on NSE, in that order. Domestic equity benchmarks Sensex and
Nifty settled in the positive zone on gains in IT, bank, financial, telecom, pharma and metal stocks amid mixed global cues. The Sensex
surged 318 points, or 0.93 per cent, to finish at 34,663, while Nifty50 climbed 84 points, or 0.80 per cent to rest at 10,514. In the Nifty
pack, 34 stocks advanced and 16 declined, while in Sensex 24 remained in the green and 7 in the red. Barring Nifty Auto and realty, all
sectors closed with gains on Thursday, with Nifty IT at the top. Bharti Airtel, Tata Consultancy Services, Infosys, Axis Bank, Sun
Pharmaceutical Industries, Hindalco Industries and Tata Steel emerged as the top gainers in the Nifty index on Thursday. On the contrary,
Tata Motors, GAIL, ONGC, Grasim, HPCL and Bajaj Auto remained the top losers in the index.
