Share market update: Telecom shares rise; Bharti Airtel jumps 5%

NEW DELHI: The SP BSE Telecom index was up in Monday's afternoon session with most of its components trading in the green. Shares of
Bharti Airtel (up 4.97 per cent), Vodafone Idea (up 4.63 per cent), GTL Infrastructure (up 4.26 per cent) and Bharti Infratel (up 3.84 per
cent) were trading with gains
Vindhya Telelinks (up 2.88 per cent), Aksh Optifibre (up 2.74 per cent), Himachal Futuristic Communications (up 2.38 per cent) and GTL (up
2.26 per cent) too were trading in the green
The SP BSE Telecom index was trading 3.94 per cent up at 1040.81 around 02:13 pm
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 109.40 points at 11,144.80 while the BSE Sensex was up 318.32 points at 36989.75
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 42 were trading in the green, while 8 were in the red
Shares of Suzlon Energy, Reliance Communications, Reliance Power, Infibeam Avenues, CG Power, Tata Power, NALCO, JP Associates, DHFL, Adani
Power, South Indian Bank, YES Bank, Vakrangee, Lemon Tree Hotels and Motherson Sumi were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
