NEW DELHI: The BSE Smallcap index was trailing benchmark Sensex in morning trade on Thursday.

cent down at 17,334, while Sensex was 0.29 per cent up at 35,007 around 10:45 am

Leel Electricals (down 14.81 per cent), Fineotex Chemical (down
10.60 per cent), Arrow Greentech (down 9.99 per cent), Manpasand Beverages (down 9.99 per cent) and Dilip Buildcon (down 9.78 per cent) were
the other significant losers in the index.
On the other hand, Punj Lloyd (up 17.34 per cent) emerged as the top gainer in the smallcap
index.
The infrastructure firm on Wednesday reported a standalone profit of Rs 944 crore for the quarter ended March 2018.
The company had
posted a loss of Rs 181.58 crore for the same period last year
WPIL (up 14.55 per cent), BGR Energy Systems (up 14.16 per cent), Orient Cement (up 13.05 per cent) and Munjal Showa (up 9.99 per cent)
also featured among top gainers.
Equity benchmarks pared gains owing to losses in heavyweights such as ICICI Bank, Tata Consultancy
Services, State Bank of India and Sun Pharma.
