but heavily criticised, news agency Reuters quoted a government official as saying on Thursday

per cent on those with taxable income between Rs 2 crore and Rs
5 crore, and from 15 per cent to 37 per cent for income above Rs
5 crore.The new rules are also applicable to FPIs operating as trusts or as association of persons.On Monday, August 5, the Finance Minister
had said Economic Affairs Secretary Atanu Chakraborty would hold discussions with representatives of foreign portfolio investors (FPIs)
