Stock exchange upgrade: Smallcaps underperform Sensex; Manpasand Beverages, Ruchi Soya among leading losers in the pack

NEW DELHI: The BSE Smallcap index was underperforming benchmark Sensex during Monday's trade. Around 11:25 am, the smallcap index was 0.58
per cent down at 16,864, while the Sensex was 0.08 per cent down at 35,594

Networks (down 5.75 per cent), KNR Constructions (down 5.61 per cent), Manpasand Beverages (down 5 per cent) and Ruchi Soya Industries (down
4.99 per cent) were the top losers in the smallcap index. On the other hand, shares of Ruby Mills (up 9.81 per cent), Signet Industries (up
7.46 per cent), Nandan Denim (up 7.09 per cent), Datamatics Global Services (up 6.43 per cent) and Binani Industries (up 6.18 per cent) were
among the top gainers in the smallcap index. Equity markets were dull, tracking weakness in the global stocks, in the light of a renewed
trade war prospect between world's two largest economies, the US and China
In the Sensex index, 14 stocks were advancing, while 17 were declining in trade. ICICI Bank, with a gain of over 3 per cent, was leading
the pack of Sensex gainers. Vedanta, Tata Steel and Coal India, on the other hand, were trading among the top losers in the Sensex pack of
stocks.
