Markets now: Electrosteel Steels, PNB, MIDHANI among most active stocks in terms of volume

Electrosteel Steels hogged limelight after the National Company Law Tribunal's (NCLT) Kolkata bench on Monday approved Vedanta Ltd's
resolution plan for the insolvent. Federal Bank, Nalco, ICICI Bank and GMR Infra were among other most active stocks in terms of volume on
the exchange. The NSE Nifty index was trading 7.05 points up at 10,555.75, whereas BSE Sensex was up 22.77 points at 34,417.83 at around
9:57AM (IST) on April 18
In the Nifty index, Zee Entertainment Enterprises(up 2.78 per cent), Cipla (up 2.42 per cent), Wipro(up 1.58 per cent), YES Bank (up 1.25
per cent), UltraTech Cement (up 1.12 per cent), Vedanta (up 1.11 per cent) and GAIL (India) (up 1.09 per cent) stood among the top
gainers. However, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd
(down 1.67 per cent), Hindustan Petroleum Corporation (down 1.53 per cent), Indian Oil Corporation (down 1.05 per cent), Mahindra Mahindra
(down 1.04 per cent) and Titan Company (down 1.01 per cent) were among the top losers in the index
