Stock market update: Energy shares down; Adani Transmissions plunges 7%

NEW DELHI: Shares of energy companies were in the red in Friday's morning session. Shares of Adani Transmissions (down 7.32 per cent), Tata
Power Company (down 3.65 per cent), Reliance Industries (down 3.37 per cent), HPCL (down 3.33 per cent) and Bharat Petroleum Corporation
(down 3.24 per cent) were among the top losers. Oil - Natural Gas Corporation (down 2.62 per cent), Indian Oil Corporation (down 2.18 per
cent), Power Grid Corporation of India (down 1.13 per cent) and GAIL (India) (down 0.61 per cent) too were trading with losses in the index
While NTPC (up 0.5 per cent) was the only gainer
The Nifty Energy index was trading 2.41 per cent down at 13,730.15 around 11:05 am
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 340.30 points at 11,293.0, while the BSE Sensex was 1,139.46 points at 38,606.2
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 2 were trading in the green, while 48 were in the red
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Tata Motors, GMR Infra, SBI, Ashok Leyland, Bank of Baroda, SAIL, Indiabulls Housing and PNB were among
