NEW DELHI: Punjab National Bank (number of shares traded: 0.69 crore), Hindalco Industries (0.68 crore) and Ashok Leyland (0.56 crore) were
among the most traded stocks on NSE during the early trade on Friday.
Vedanta (0.49 crore), BPCL (0.49 crore), Tata Consultancy Services
(0.41 crore), ICICI Bank (0.41 crore), Infosys (0.40 crore), YES Bank (0.39 crore), Indian Oil Corporation (0.38 crore), State Bank of India
(0.37 crore) and HPCL (0.34 crore) were also among the most traded stocks on NSE.
Equity benchmarks were trading in the red, hit by weakness
in bank stocks post RBI's hawkish policy stance and simmering oil prices
However, a rally in IT stocks capped the fall
The NSE Nifty index was trading 23 points down at 10,542, while the BSE Sensex was down 53 points at 34,374 around 10:15 am (IST).
Among
the 50 stocks in the Nifty50 index, 13 were in the green, while 37 were in the red
Tata Consultancy Services, Infosys, Tech Mahindra, HCL Technologies, Tata Motors and Wipro were trading among the top gainers in the Nifty
index.
On the other hand, Hindalco Industries, Bajaj Finance, Tata Steel, Vedanta, YES Bank and State Bank of India were among the top
losers in the nifty pack of stocks.
