DMK Chief MK StalinOn the last day of TN assembly session, DMK, the opposition party in the state staged a walkout after the government
refused to accept the demand of opposition to convene a special assembly session.The DMK had demanded that the specials assembly session
should be convened to discuss New Education Policy and pass a resolution against it.DMK chief MK Stalin during a special call attention
motion in the assembly said that the National Education policy is against state interest.He said that NEP is giving importance to Sanskrit
and it tacitly encourages the Hereditary Occupation System
He also pointed out that the book on herbs distributed to them had text in Hindi apart from Tamil and English.Meanwhile, AIADMK Minister
Sengottaiyan pointed out that a letter has already been written to the Prime Minister by CM Edappadi Karuppa Palaniswami stating that Tamil
Nadu will follow the two-language policy
Sengottaiyan has said that the three-language policy will never be followed in Tamil Nadu.CM EPS added that two committees have already been
formed for school and higher education to study NEP and advise the pros and cons to the government.DMK MLA Duraimurugan again questioned the
government for not convening special assembly session to discuss NEP and DMK MLAs thus walked out.
