A sub-inspector and his team rescued 54 coronavirus patients from a Covid care centre in Kadapa district after it was inundated with
floodwater.Authorities at Haj Bhavan located in Chennuru of Kadapa district had sent an SOS message informing about the rainwater entering
the building. On receiving the information, Sub-Inspector Tulasi, along with his team, rushed to the spot and rescued the stranded
coronavirus patients. All rescued people were shifted to another faculty which was created at a private Engineering college.Several districts
in Andhra Pradesh, particularly the Rayalseema region, are facing a flood-like situation even as heavy rainfall continue to lash the
state.According to Central Water Commission, even as Jurala Project is nearly full, the water released from Jurala, Srisailam,
Nagarjunasagar and Pulichintala Dams are likely to cause an excess inflow of water for another 2-3 days.Meanwhile, water in river
Tungabhadra (in Kurnool district) is rising, leading to additional inflows into Srisailam Dam.Due to very heavy rain occurring in Kadapa,
river Papagni, which is a tributary of river Pennar is rising rapidly at Kamalapuram, while the water level in river Pennar is also rising
all along its course due to rainfall exceeding 100 mm in most of the areas. The weather department has predicted more rain in Andhra Pradesh.
